Associate Professor Xu Bo of the School of Science won Top Cited Auther Award(China) of IOP

Recently, Associate Professor Xu Bo of the Faculty of Physics of the School of Science (introduced in 2017) received a congratulatory letter from the Institute of Physics (IOP) for he is the corresponding author of the article published in Appl. Phys. Express 9, 035203 (2016), ”Ab initio study of carrier mobility of few-layer InSe”. This article was selected by the Top Cited Author of Institute of Physics (IOP) in 2018 (China) and IOP Publishing awarded the honorary certificate to the author of the award-winning paper, which was the first time IOP had awarded this honor to Chinese science and technology workers.

Founded in 1873, the Institute of Physics (IOP) is one of the oldest academic associations in the world. At present, IOP has become a global academic association promoting the development of physics and spreads around the world. IOP Publishing specializes in physics and related sciences. To date, IOP has published nearly 90 journals covering applied physics, computer science, condensed matter and materials science, mathematical physics, medicine and biology. In recognition of the great contributions of Chinese researchers to the global scientific community, Institute of Physics (IOP) has cited over 100,000 papers in more than 70 journals of IOP based on citations from Web of Science over the past three years (2015-2017). The situation was statistically analyzed, and a list of the top 1 Chinese authors in each field was selected, with a total of 151 articles.

Associate Professor Xu Bo in this paper (Appl. Phys. Express 9, 035203 (2016)) theoretically predicts that the two-dimensional semiconductor InSe has high carrier mobility comparable to that of the current mainstream semiconductor material silicon (Si), which can be as high as 103 cm2/Vs. Shortly after the publication of the work, it was verified by the 2010 Nobel Prize winner Andre K. Geim (Nature Nanotech. 12, 223 (2017)). In their work, they quoted the theoretical results of Associate Professor Xu Bo to explain their experimental results.
