Research Summary

Professor XU’s research focuses on physical and chemical properties of two-dimensional nanomaterials (2DNMs) and their applications in biomedical materials.  2DNMs representa novel type of material with versatile physicochemicalproperties that have enabled a new horizon forapplications in both cancer diagnosis and therapy. 2DNMs may be used indiverse aspects, including, i) cancer detection due to theirhigh propensity towards tumor markers; ii) imaging for guided tumor therapies, and iii) drug andgene delivery, iv) photothermal and photodynamic cancertherapies.
