Research Summary

Professor ZHANG’s research interestsinvolvethe design, synthesis, biological evaluation and mechanism study of new drugs. The recent research focuses on two main fields: i) the rational design and discovery of small molecules for the treatment of cancer or anemia by targeting ROS pathway and oxygen-sensing VHL-PHD-HIF system; ii) synthesis, SAR and drugability optimization studies based on natural products, such as bata-lapachone, tanshinone IIA, andgambogic acid.
